World Without Borders Introduction:

World Without Borders is a contemporary art project composed of chapters, all of them realized in different places of the world.
Each chapter consists of a participative action in a public space and if possible an installation with one or several map of the world-paintings and a video-projection.
World Without Borders is a work in progress since 2003.

World Without Borders Description:

Each chapter of World Without Borders consists in
1- Creation of a map of the world-painting (variable dimensions) in the studio of the artists with all political borders indicated in red.
2- Participative action: The artists unfold and lay out/ or attach the map of the world-painting on the ground/ or wall of a busy and central public space.
Subsequently they invite everybody present and persons just passing by to white out all the political borders of the world with a paint-brush and paint.
The artists start a dialogue with the public about the possibility of a world without borders.
3- Installation of the map of the world-painting in a gallery, art space, art center, museum:
The artists, with the help of several participants carry the unfolded map of the world-painting to the show-room and attach it to the wall.
The artists continue the dialogue with the public about the possibility of a world without borders. A video is recorded during the entire action.

World Without Borders Concept:
We are interested in communication, in the circulation of portable ideas, and in diversity.
We clear the way to establish new ties in view of the rapid arrival of globalisation.
We insist on the consciousness and respect of the gender between woman and man, between generations, between minorities and mayorities.
We investigate the freedom of art as well in its movements as in its ways of thinking and its various forms of expression.
We bring together the world of art and the everyday life.
Each action of this project offers the possibility to exercise the erasing of physical and mental borders.
Every one of these actions is an opportunity to consider and discuss the idea of a world without borders.
We consider these maps of the world as landscape paintings finished in collaboration with the spectators.
We think about Mark Twain´s ´Tom Sawyer´and the collective painting, in this case not of a fence but of a map of the world.
We recall the social sculptures of Josef Beuys when we provoke the discussion about the idea of a world without borders
and the enthusiasm we encounter in all the participating people during the process of erasing borders. We remember the Natural Theatre of Oklahoma,
“…Everybody is invited to participate, no matter what age, nationality, etc.
We salute the suprematistic non- objective world and boundless cosmos created by Kasimir Malevitch.

A lady, who participated to white out borders in Madrid, said ”Oh, I understand, You are describing the ideal situation!” “…

We create the work while we are doing it, while we live. What will happen next?…Maï T “

..Long live Life Art (Action Art) as an expression of freedom…” Harald

It is necessary to repeat, because every time it is like this, it is like this, it is like this…” Gertrude Stein
